Full-time and part-time hours available; days, weekends, and nights.

Summary

We seek support workers to join our team at our two homes in Colchester. These homes care for young people between the ages of 16 and 18. We are looking for compassionate individuals who are dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young people in care. The ideal candidates should enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team, have previous experience in supporting young people aged 16-18, and possess a good understanding of Ofsted regulations and guidelines. If you are passionate about helping young people develop the skills to live independently in an Ofsted-aligned setting, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications

  • Essential:
  • Health & Social Care Diploma Level 3 (or willing to work towards)
  • A good level of computer skills
  • Relevant Certifications or Training in:
  • Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Foundation Level
  • COSHH
  • Fire Safety
  • First Aid Paediatric
  • Food Safety And Hygiene Foundation
  • GDPR For Staff
  • Health And Nutrition
  • Psychological First Aid: Supporting Children And Young People
  • Risk Management And Safer Caring
  • Desirable:
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Safeguarding Children
  • Radicalisation & Extremism
  • Caring for Asylum-Seeking Children & Refugees

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working in a care situation, preferably with children or young people (e.g., previous teaching assistants, foster carers, or those trained in care)
  • The ability to build positive relationships
  • Excellent communication, observation, and written skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
